Saguling Reservoir is an artificial reservoir was completed in 1986. This reservoir stem Citarum to the flow of electricity needs. Currently Saguling Reservoir has reorganized into a multipurpose dam, including for the development of fisheries, agriculture and tourism.

Regions surrounding hills with plenty of water sources that contribute to the reservoir. In the south there is the campsite which has an atmosphere of trees that shade and cool. You can stroll around the dam with a view of the beautiful green valley in the west, or around the dam to the place with enough altitude to see the dam as a whole. There are stairs in this place that you can go down.

Saguling Reservoir not only object that you can visit in this area. The sight of two big yellow pipe you can visit after leaving the resevoir precisely in Saguling hydropower. In addition there is a sanghyang tikoro underground caves along approximately 200 meters where the flow of Citarum is divided into two and went into the cave and then exit at sangiangkenit and rejoined the main flow.

Sanghyangtikoro derived from the Sundanese, Sanghyang means god and Tikoro means throat. There is a myth that if we put sticks into the cave Sanghyangtikoro will scream pain God's voice (Sanghyang) from the throat (Tikoro).

Saguling Reservoirs is in the area of West Bandung Regency. When using the tollroad, exit at Padalarang door into the main road Bandung-Cianjur. Continue your journey through Cipatat until arrived in the region of Rajamandala. Began entering the area of Rajamandala, there Saguling Gate Reservoir on the left side of the road. After going through the gate and entered the cocoa garden there is a junction, take the road to the left into Saguling Reservoir. Uphill road conditions through steep slopes, and past Bedil Waterfall. Sanghyangtikoro located from Saguling Reservoir go to back to the main road and at junction choose left direction into Saguling Hydropower. Position adjacent to this Saguling Hydropower, which is at the west end of the building.

Patengan Lake or usually called Patenggang Lake is a lake in the south of Bandung with a beautiful natural charm. Tea plantations surrounding the lake makes the atmosphere is so peaceful in nature mountain cool and clean valve.

The myth narrate eternal love of two lovers are separated between Dewi Rengganis and Ki Santang delivery Patenggang or Patengan toponyms. Once there, they were 'looking at each other' which in Sundanese language is pangteangan-teangan> pangteangan> pateangan> patengan> patenggang.

In the middle Patengan Lake, there are island named "Sasaka" which means Island of romantic, sometimes called Island of Love. On the island there are also stones called Stone of Love. Island of Love and Stone of Love is inseparable from the continuation of the myth, where the Dewi Rengganis and Ki Santang finally met at the Stone of Love. Dewi Rengganis asked Ki Santang to make a boat to sail together. This boat which later became Sasaka Island. Series of mythical stories that make people believe that if the couple stopped at Stone of Love and around the Sasaka Island, the couple's love will be eternal like love between Ki Santang and Dewi Rengganis.

Apart from the known myths were hereditary, the boats that you can rent around the lake will always take around the Island Sasaka. Forests are still awake and the green grass growing on the banks of the lake provides a different atmosphere when you pull on the east side of the lake.

There are villa in Patengan Lake that you can rent . Shops were many scattered around the lake that provides a variety of foods and beverages. Facilities such as toilets, mosque and a parking space in Situ Patengan good enough and maintained.

Patengan Lake located in the southern city of Bandung, you can journey to Ciwidey first. After passing Ciwidey, you will find various tourist attractions such as White Crater (Kawah Putih), Ranca Upas, Cimanggu and Ranca Walini before you arrive in Situ Patengan. There is a junction when entering the area of Rancabali Tea Plantation, choose who to the left. The distance from Bandung City to Patengan Lake about 50 km. You can choose tollroad Kopo or Moh. Toha. Continue your journey heading south through Soreang.

With 180 hectares area, Cileunca Lake offers very beautiful panoramic lake. Formerly, people could call this area as Swiss of Indonesia, no wonder it because in addition to its natural beauty, the air in Cileunca Lake so cool. In the morning when the sky is clear, Cileunca Lake truly charm the amazing landscape. Looking toward the east, visitors can indulge in the line of sight of Mount Wayang-Windu.

Cileunca Lake Development which took over 7 years (1919-1926) was originally to provide a source of water for generating electricity in a way to stem the flow of Cileunca River. The Dam itself is called Pulo. Now, Cileunca Lake be one option tourist attraction in Bandung.

Cileunca Lake is within a distance of 45 km from the city of Bandung to the south toward Pangalengan. When using the tollroad, exit at the door Moh. Toha or Buah Batu then continue the journey toward Banjaran. There is a junction after passing through the Square and Market of Banjaran, choose to Pangalengan (turn left). Having started entering The District of Pangalengan City, there is a junction again, point your car toward the right to Cileunca Lake. The main entrance of area about 5 km from this junction.

In this area there are also boats that will take visitors around the lake or picking strawberries on the side of the lake. Besides the boat, there is children facilities and Flying Fox. Facilities in this area is complete, public toilets and changing rooms available around the lake. Any shops can be found around the lake.

Satisfied activity in this area, visitors can took a walk in the Dam Pulo with an occasional view of the fishing around the Dam. Location of Dam Pulo is before the main entrance Cileunca Lake. Dam Pulo length is about 200 meters solid stems Cileunca Lake. Green grass growing on the dam wall and sunshine gives a different atmosphere. (Balarea.Com)

A. Brief Information

Lake Toba is the most famous lake in Indonesia. It is 100 km long and 30 km wide thus many people agree that Lake Toba is the biggest lake in the world. An island in the middle of the lake is Samosir Island at an altitude of 1.000 meters.

According a group of researchers from Michigan Technological University, there was a huge explosion that is famous as Toba eruption/Toba event which occurred about 75.000 years ago. The total amount of material erupted from the explosion was about 2.000 cubic km. Toba ash layer resulted from the explosion covered the entire Sumatra Island and Indonesia for about two weeks. The explosion formed a caldera then was gradually filled with water. Samosir Island appeared after a long term of magma uplifting from the earth.

B. Distinctive Features

Lake Toba has a very enchanted scenery for being surrounded by green hills. It offers beautifully magnificent view, fresh air, and tranquillity. You may either swim on the lake or rent a boat to hang around the lake. When the sun is going to set, you will experience a tranquil atmosphere while enjoying the sunset.
Lake Toba has cosmologic and magical values since surrounding people believe the existence of Namborru – seven fairies regarded as the ancestors of Batak tribe. There is an annual event namely Pesta Rakyat Danau Toba to express admiration for the local inhabitants‘ ancestors.

In Samosir Island, there are two other lakes namely Lake Sidihoni and Lake Aek Natonang. Likewise, there are some other tourism destinations such as Raja Sidabutar‘s Graveyard and traditional houses of Batak Toba Samosir tribe.

C. Location

Lake Toba encompasses three districts, Simalungun, Parapat, and Ambarita districts. It lies in North Sumatra Indonesia.

D. Access

To reach Lake Toba, you may take public transport passing through Medan-Parapat or Medan-Berastagi routes. It spends approximately four hours or 176 km distance.
